Features of iPad Pro 12.9 2022
As the sixth generation of iPad Pro 12.9 hit the stores this week, Apple fans are all asking the same question. What’s new in the 2022 version of the iPad Pro 12.9? Let’s find out.
M2 Chip
The M2 chip is Apple’s secret weapon. It is the first time the company put M2 chips in the iPads, surpassing the M1. In fact, the company claims that M2 will bring even more breakthrough "capabilities" to the iPad Pro "with industry-leading power efficiency, a unified memory architecture, and custom technologies."
M2 features an 8-core CPU — up to 15 percent faster than M1 — with advancements in performance and efficiency cores and a 10-core GPU, delivering up to 35 percent faster graphics performance for the most demanding users. Combined with the CPU and GPU, the 16-core Neural Engine can process 15.8 trillion operations per second — 40 percent more than M1 — making iPad Pro even more powerful when handling machine learning tasks. The M2 chip also features 100GB/s of unified memory bandwidth — 50 percent more than M1 — and supports up to 16GB of fast unified memory, making multitasking and working with large amounts of data effortless.
The M2 chip powers the workflow of graphic designers working on complex 3D objects, photographers editing their work, or gamers enjoying high-resolution games. How does this translate to your daily use of the iPad Pro? Apple has excellent plans for the M-chip and aims to replace the Intel chip, which is still used in Apple products today.
iOS 16 Features
Apple’s iOS 16 really shines in the iPad Pro 12.9 fourth generation. The 12.9-inch iPad Pro’s Liquid Retina XDR display can match the color requirements through Reference Mode. Photographers, videographers, or anyone who loves to edit images and media, can edit HDR images with true-to-life detail. Or you can preview content in a color profile that will match the final capture. Accurate colors and consistent image quality becomes a breeze thanks to Reference Mode.
Stage Manager is another exciting new multitasking feature in iOS 16. It automatically organizes windows and apps, making it easy to switch between tasks. Later this year, Apple is planning to unlock full external display support with Stage Manager for resolutions of up to 6K. This means you can work with up to four apps on the iPad and another four on the external display.

Apple Pencil Hover
The iPad Pro 12.9, fourth generation, now detects the Apple Pencil up to 12 mm above the display. The already precise Apple Pencil has now reached ultra levels. In addition, you can see a preview of the mark before doing it, giving you even more control. For example, handwriting converts to text even faster, and text fields automatically expand when the pencil gets near the screen with Scribble. The hover feature is also active in third-party apps to enable entirely new marking and drawing experiences. Remember that only the second-generation Apple Pencil is compatible with the iPad Pro 12.9.
The IPad And The Environment
The new generation of iPad Pro 12.9 and 11, released earlier this month, is the first iPad model to include 100 percent recycled gold in the printed circuit gold, for example. Tin and aluminum are also recycled. The new iPad Pros also have redesigned packaging that eliminates the outer plastic wrap. Almost all of the packaging, 99 percent, is fiber-based. These steps form part of Apple's goal to altogether remove plastic from its packaging by 2025.
Price
If there is one thing that remains unchanged about Apple, it is its pricing systems. The iPad Pro 12.9 is the top of the range in size, specs, and price. There is no price difference when it comes to color, but there is when it comes to storage.

Size And Looks
Aesthetically, the new iPad Pro 2022 remains the same. Sleek and elegant, the iPad Pro 12.9 has a black bezel without a home button and comes in space grey or silver. It still measures 11.04 x 8.46 x 0.25 inches. Even the weight remained the same – the Wi-Fi model weighs 1.5 pounds while the Wi-Fi and Cellular version is 1.51 pounds. You can continue using your favorite iPad Pro 12.9 case. The Zugu iPad Pro 12.9 case is one of the best on the market. It provides military-grade protection thanks to the robust TPU plastic and reinforced corners. In addition, the Zugu case has inbuilt air vents to help keep your iPad cool. It also has an adjustable kickstand case that folds back into ten angles. There is no risk of your iPad slipping out while watching a movie or reading a document, thanks to the fitted magnets in each of the ten slots.
